It’s your day...

You want everything perfect, each detail attended to, each element to be intrinsically reflective of you; something so unspeakably beautiful and unique that it will never be forgotten. For over 20 years, Mattfeld’s has been turning the dreams of brides into colorful realities. Dale and his team designs, from the timeless to the contemporary are created with you in mind. Working side by side with you from the initial consultation, Dale gives each wedding the special attention and care it deserves from ceremony flowers and personals to arrangements for the reception, creating the perfect designs to tell each story.

Early Preparations for Your Wedding Flowers

Ideally you should allow 16-24 (probably more) weeks advance notice for wedding flowers, but we at Mattfeld’s have been known to provide wedding flowers in as little as 48 hours!

Also, do bear in mind that during busy periods such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas the availability will be limited. We recommend that any decisions regarding your wedding flowers should only be made once the wedding dress has been chosen as the style and color scheme of your flowers should complement the wedding attire as well as reflect the personality of the bride and groom.

Arrange a consultation with Dale, our Wedding Design Manager Before your visit, look through books and magazines for flowers, bouquets, hall decorations and table arrangements. Take with you pictures of wedding flowers you like. It is often much easier to show Dale what you like instead of trying to explain it. If you have pictures of your wedding dress and your bridesmaid dresses, and/or if you have fabric swatches bring those with you! Then, Dale can better recommend both the style and color scheme of flowers that will fully compliment wedding attire. If you haven’t visited the ceremony or reception hall recently, you may want to take another look so that you can decide how many arrangements you’ll need. Again, photographs will assist Dale in designing the right wedding flowers arrangements.

Choosing Your Wedding Flowers

Selecting flowers that will hold up for the entire wedding day, particularly if you are taking pictures before the ceremony or outside, will ensure that they still look gorgeous when you walk down the aisle. Consider your gown and your stature before making selections. Don’t let your bouquet overwhelm you. If you are petite, the weight of a large bouquet could become a problem during the ceremony. Additionally, if you’ve been desperately trying to slim for the big day, you don’t want all that hard work to be covered by a large, cascading bouquet! The king of the (wedding) cake is the selection of flowers with special meanings. Most flowers have a specific meaning. For example, ivy means fidelity, friendship and marriage, violets signify modesty and hope, jasmine is for happiness and tulips depict enchantment.
